• NEW books come directly from publishers like Simon & Schuster, Sourcebooks, and Random House etc. These are priced at the full publisher list price.
• UNREAD overstock books are purchased from overstock book wholesalers like Book Depot. These books have a remainder mark on them (to prevent publisher returns) and are sold below publisher list prices, passing the savings on to you.
• USED books are clearly labeled "USED" on their price tags and are shelved in the USED/SALE section and are all under $5.

Growing up, my favorite scary story was The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the eerie tale of the Headless Horseman. That story always fascinated me. I use to read it and watched an animated version over and over. So when it came time to name my shop, I wanted something that felt really unique, a little mysterious, and tied to storytelling itself.That’s how The Headless Librarian was born.

My mascot isn’t just a headless figure, it’s a librarian whose head has been replaced by an open book. Why? Because she read so much, she quite literally read her head off. It’s a fun play on words and a tribute to those of us who get completely lost in the pages of a book. I even had the graphic artist add some ravens because of my love for Edgar Allen Poe.

Books have a way of transporting us, reshaping us, and if we’re lucky, making us lose our heads in the best possible way. So, if you ever find yourself so deep in a story that the world around you disappears, congratulations because you might just be a Headless Librarian too.
